The Pet Shop Boyz would like to welcome to our store three fantastic Holistic Vets - Dr Kathy Cornack , Dr Linda Tabley & Dr Caroline Hoetzer.
Dr Kathy, Dr Linda & Dr Caroline are available for consultations from their room in our store, they also offer a phone consultation service.

Dr Kathy Cornack - 0421 501 977 Holistic Vets Newcastle 

BVSc (hons), MAgr Sc (nutrition), IVAS cert Vet acupuncture, MANZCVS (veterinary behaviour), Committee member IVA (Integrative Vets Australia)

An animal lover all her life, Kathy graduated as a vet from University in Qld in 1985, and has spent the past 34 years working in various aspects of the veterinary profession, as well as traveling and raising a family.

Since graduation Kathy has completed further study in the fields of nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and behavioural medicine. Originally from Brisbane, she and her family settled in Newcastle in 2012. She is passionate about the environment and healthy, clean, sustainable living.

“I am a passionate advocate for raw and natural feeding for our animal companions. It is my pleasure to be part of the team at The Pet Shop Boyz to help and support people who are choosing the natural way of caring for their four legged family members. I have a strong interest in all facets of natural health and supporting the body as naturally as possible. I also have a particular interest in mental health and behaviour issues, as well as quality care options for senior animals, and fostering mutual understanding and respect between humans and animals throughout the entire lifespan.”

 

Dr Linda Tabley - 0439 490 720

Linda fulfilled a long held dream to become a Vet when she completed her Veterinary Degree at Sydney University in 1984. She has worked as a Vet for the past 35 years in Australia and overseas.

Linda moved from Sydney to Newcastle 16 years ago with her husband and 4 children, after having fallen in love with the area while working here as a new veterinary graduate.

Linda has had an interest in natural health and natural diets for animals and people for many years, however after experiencing some serious health issues 20 years ago and receiving relief with the guidance of an excellent Naturopath she became very passionate about the world of holistic medicine.

Linda is particularly interested in traditional Western Herbal Medicine and is in her 3rd year of completing a graduate diploma in this field. She believes strongly in healthy unprocessed diets being the cornerstone for the maximal health of animals , and is excited to have the opportunity to work at The Petshop Boyz where they are following a similar path with regards to natural nutrition. Linda has a strong desire to help animals live their best possible quality of life and to work with their families to achieve this.

 

Dr Caroline Hoetzer - 0438 011 155

B Vet Biol/DVM, LLB (Hons), BA

Originally from Lake Macquarie, Caroline recently graduated from the University of Sydney and has returned to Newcastle as a veterinarian.

With her legal background, Caroline is a committed animal advocate, seeking to improve the welfare of animals, both in policy and in their daily life. Caroline has a real love of dogs and has been involved in dog rescue for more than 15 years, particularly greyhound rescue. She has fostered and rescued hundreds of greyhounds over the years and has lots of experience dealing with the peculiarities of this gentle breed.

As a holistic veterinarian, Caroline is passionate about promoting the health and wellbeing of our animal companions through raw and natural feeding and a healthy lifestyle. A natural feeder all her life, she is committed to educating people about how to provide a species-appropriate diet for their companion animals in a sustainable, affordable way. With a background in Japanese yoga therapy, Caroline is also pursuing further study in Chinese veterinary herbal medicine.

Caroline is excited to be part of the team at The Pet Shop Boyz as this will provide the opportunity to connect with and support the raw and natural feeding community of Newcastle with veterinary advice that aligns with a holistic approach to medicine.
